Treehouse of Horror XX

Everyone knows The Simpson's Treehouse of Horror has been a staple in Halloween TV for the last twenty years. This year we have a doozie! Treehouse of Horror XX contains thre short episodes:

Dial "M" for Murder- Lisa Simpson fails to win an award in her class and decides to exact revenge on her teacher via a prank. She teams up with Bart to plan the prank. Bart takes the prank a little too far, causing madness and mayhem in the Simpson family.

28 Days Later- A knew burger is introduced to the townsfolk. Little do they know, the burgers are specially made and have a weird effect on people, turning them into flesh eating zombies!

There's No Business Like Moe Business- This one is a horror musical taking place on stage in a replica of Moe's Tavern. Moe runs out of beer on tap so he decides to investigate and inadvertantly stumbles upon a delicious brew that is irresistable to all.
This year's Treehouse of Horror is an instant classic. The opening credits featuring different plays on the names of the creators. For example Matt Groening ~ Bat Groening. It's little things like that that make me chuckle. Each episode is unique from the others. Dial "M" for murder is drawn in black & white, 28 Days Later parodies all of the things we know and love about zombie movies, and There's no Business Like Moe Business plays on the recent influx of horror themed musicals. Each one does an excellent job bringing comedy to the genre. As usual with the Simpsons, there are witty one liners, funny situations, and retarded Homer Simpsons. Some of the attempts at quick humor fall short however. Hey no one's perfect. Overall this years Treehouse of Terror was a joy to watch. I just wish the episode was a full hour special instead of a measly thirty minutes. If you missed this years episode be sure to monitor your local fox station to see when it will be shown again. If that's too hard, do yourself a favor and head on over to hulu.com and stream it on teh interwebz. You'll be glad you did. The Treehouse of Horror XX gets a 4/5.
